What is endometriosis?

Endometriosis is characterized by the presence of endometrial-like epithelium and/or stroma outside of the uterine cavity (womb).  The growth of these tissue fragments is frequently associated with an inflammatory process1.
During menstruation, endometriosis lesions can react to variations in hormonal levels, leading to acute inflammation, bleeding, severe pain and many other symptoms. Endometriosis causes a significant deterioration in quality of life.
Endometriosis affects about 10% of women of childbearing  age. It potentially affects all women and can appear as early as from adolescence. Endometriosis can be completely asymptomatic and is sometimes diagnosed during a consultation prompted by difficulty in conceiving.  In fact, a significant proportion of patients with endometriosis also suffer from infertility.

Why Choose Us

All you need to know about the process

Yes, the Ziwig Endotest® is completely non-invasive. It only requires a simple saliva sample, avoiding the need for any surgical or uncomfortable procedures.

The Ziwig Endotest® offers exceptional accuracy in detecting endometriosis, with a sensitivity of 97%, a specificity of 95%, and a diagnostic accuracy (AUC) of 96%. This non-invasive test provides reliable results using advanced artificial intelligence and next-generation sequencing

The Ziwig Endotest® is a simple and non-invasive test that involves collecting a saliva sample. To do this, gently spit into the sample tube through the provided funnel until the liquid (without air bubbles) reaches or slightly exceeds the fill line.

Once the sample is ready, your doctor will securely seal the tube and arrange for its safe shipment to the laboratory.

Your doctor is there to guide you every step of the way. If you have any questions or need support, don't hesitate to reach out!

The sampling process for the Ziwig Endotest® is quick and easy. It typically takes just a few minutes to collect the saliva sample. Simply spit into the provided funnel, seal the tube, and you're done!

Yes, please observe the following instructions 30 minutes before sampling:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly.

  • Do not use the test if you are unwell (e.g., have an infection).

  • Do not eat or drink.

  • Do not smoke.

  • Do not chew gum.

  • Do not wear lipstick.

  • Do not brush your teeth.

These measures help ensure that the test results are as accurate as possible. It's important that the saliva is clear and free of food residue or blood.

he Ziwig Endotest® is specifically designed for patients between 18 and 43 years old who exhibit symptoms suggestive of possible endometriosis and in whom ultrasound does not provide clear evidence of endometriosis. The Ziwig Endotest® offers a faster and more efficient alternative to laparoscopy or imaging procedures for diagnosis.

It is crucial to address any uncertainty about the possibility of endometriosis as early as possible. Therefore, if you experience symptoms such as severe menstrual pain, pain during intercourse, or fertility problems, the Ziwig Endotest® could be a meaningful diagnostic option.

You or your clinic will ship the sample to PWCRI’s headquarters in Mumbai. There, it undergoes quality checks before being sent to Ziwig’s specialized lab overseas for in-depth analysis.

The entire process takes about one month from the time you collect your sample. This includes shipping, analysis, and verification. Your doctor will inform you once the results are ready.

Once Precision Women's Care and Research Institute (PWCRI) receives the test results, we will email the patient or their consultant doctor with a clear "yes" or "no" result.

If you receive a positive result from the Ziwig Endotest®, it's important to book an appointment with a gynecologist or an endometriosis specialist to discuss the next steps.
